Servo-X

The Servo-X is a device that shoots a beam of x-rays through the feed batt of a card. It continuously monitors the amount of fiber going into the card and makes corrections to the speed of the feed rolls and the conveyor feeding the feed rolls. The result is that it maintains a very accurate web weight coming out of the card. An accurate web weight from the card means an accurate fabric weight at the winder. This translates into better quality for the customer and better profits for the producer. The Servo-X is the black cylinder with the yellow label shown in the picture. It shoots a beam through the feed batt under the fluted roll.
